David Webb Gypsy Monkey Brooch

The Monkey is an ubiquitous animal in Webb’s Kingdom Collection, and in countless iterations. The inspiration may have been a piece of ancient sculpture or how-to drawing from a John Gnagy or Walter Foster book, but the success of the monkey brooch was all Webb. From his start in 1965 as a playful creature with cabochon ruby eyes and diamond bracelet, over the decades there have been several variations of his fur from yellow, blue or two-toned with green and white. He never lost his dainty bracelet, though he did at one time gain a pair of twisted gold hoop earrings
